A few weeks ago Melbourne charity, Kollel Menachem Lubavitch, held a gala dinner where they raised $30,000 in 30 minutes with text-to-give fundraising.
Throughout the evening, Kollel Menachem had their keyword “TORAH” and the SMS donation phone number displayed on screens behind the speakers. As people made donations their personal messages of support were displayed on the screens, along with a progress bar that showed the bar rising in real time as gifts rolled in.
As the night progressed and the excitement grew, it was time for the pledging session. Kollel Menachem raised more than $30,000 in just 30 minutes – far exceeding their expectation, and their target.
